Updates on the Senior '09 Class that played on the Fall '08 team


Dylan Owen (Little Rock Catholic) - has committed to UALR
Josh Klapp (Rosebud High School) - has committed to Conners State
Tyler Walker (Woodlawn High School) - has committed to SAU

October 25 & 26: Arkansas Baseball Academy travels to Shreveport for its last weekend of the Fall 2008

Gametime Academy (Shreveport, LA) hosts Arkansas Baseball Academy in final weekend of the Fall season of 2008.

The first game didn't start until 2pm on Saturday, October 25 because of the ACT that was given on Saturday morning, so both teams were having to share players as a practice game type of situation until all of the seniors could show up and play a game with both teams having a full roster. When the second game began at 4:30pm, Daniel Brundick, a senior at Little Rock Catholic, gave a strong outing and giving way to Brock Ashford, a senior from Central Arkansas Christian, to get the save.

On Sunday, October 26, both teams played a nine inning game that saw Gametime Academy play almost a flawless game to defeat the Arkansas Baseball Academy.

The Arkansas Baseball Academy finished the Fall season with 7 wins and 6 losses agianst its peers. The Fall season was highlighted with 2-0 lead in 3 innings against Texarkana Junior College, almost defeating Lyon College JV team, and continuing the winning tradition of having a winning record against other high school prospect teams.

Prospects of Arkansas Baseball Academy hold their own among peers

On Saturday October 18, Hendrix College was gracious enough to let the Arkansas Baseball Academy host a showcase tournament that included the Arkansas Select from Western Arkansas and Gametime Academy from Shreveport. All three teams played two games a each on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, all three teams got to play in front of coaches from several different colleges around the Arkansas area. Outside of the Hendrix coaches, the other coaches were from the University of Central Arkansas (Conway), Central Baptist College (Conway), and Williams Baptist College (Walnut Ridge, Arkansas). The college coaches, fans, and parents got to see Arkansas Baseball Academy defeat Gametime Academy (9-3) and Arkansas Select (8-2).

On Sunday October 19, the Arkansas Baseball Academy took a loss in the first game against Gametime Academy that was the worse loss against an opponet that is their peers in the Academy's history (17-5). The Arkansas Baseball Academy came back to defeat the Arkansas Select (3-2).
